Is cross country skiing bad for the back?

I have a bad lower back; looking to replace skiing and running

Gymnastics/snowboarding/EXTREME!, where to find safe place to tty new tricks?

Depends on your type of back injury. x-country skiing involves a lot of leaning forward as you step/slide your skis forward. You probably need to consult a sport injury physiotherapist, who has a lot of experience with skiing injuries, to find out before making the decision.

I've met a lot of very elderly people who x-country ski and they all loved it because of the reduced strain on their joints compared to walking or running.

Good luck.

Are there any olympic sports where women do better than men?
