Does using a stationary bike in combination with running help in training for the 400m?


What should my splits be for a 7 minute mile?

It would help but the best training is obviously running. I would also recommend lifting weights or doing circuit training if possible.

For a 400m, you should train by doing both distance runs (to help with endurance) and sprint workouts such as intervals to help with speed.

Any anaerobic exercise, where you are out of breath, would benefit your training as a large part of any running race depends on your body taking in enough oxygen to power your heart lungs and legs. Obviously the running part of your training is essential too.
