It may help to have some gymnastics training and martial arts training. Learning how to vault, jump, and flip look key in the sport. Hit the gym and build up all you muscles and run around town a lot. Run in areas with a lot of debris so you can practice jumping and vaulting. Bush-bashing and unkept trails would be a lot fun.
