Are my times good and how much can they improve with a year os Cross Country?

Im a freshman in Highschool. This is my first year running and only been since about January..
Im thinking about running cross country this offseason so get better.. how much better do you think i can get my times down to?

Last year i was a high school freshman, I ran a 5:38 mile and a 2:30 800m, this year I ran CC which I actually like better than track because of not having to run in circles. Basically this year I am running my mile at about 5:00 and my 800 i don't know yet, it is faster for sure. I also ran the two mile last year in 12:11 not quite what i was hoping for, this year I am running it in 11:20 or less.

your times will also strongly depend on injuries, weather, and who else runs the race, if you run against all senior you probably won't keep up or will burn out early and your time will drop, but people at your level will help you to maintain an even pace troughout.

Marathon advice?

Of course your times will get better. You have just started running and with more training you will get stronger and better. How much? I don't know and neither does anyone else. It depends on many things, but you will get better.

Does it make sense lifting for upper body for cross country?

THE MAIN THING IS TO PRACTICE DURING THE SUMMER! MY FRESHMAN YEAR WAS MY BEST IM A JUNIOR NOW AND MY BODY HAS CHANGED OVER THE PAST YEARS AND IT GETS TOUGHER BUT IF U KEEP IN SHAPE AND DONT SLACK OFF U WILL BE JUST FINE! KEEP TRAINING AND GIVING IT ALL U GOT AM I WISH U THE BEST OF LUCK!

How hard is it to hold a 5k to raise money?

my mile was a 4.45 my freshman year and i think my 800 was somewhere around a 2.12 or so..you time will for sure go down...and cross country is a great hard working sport..have fun
