2 Part Question: What are the boxing "weights" in order from heaviest to lightest?
Question:Part 1: What are the boxing "weights" in order? For example, I have heard of heavyweight, middleweight, lightweight, bantamweight, flyweight, welterweigh...and there's probably some I don't even know about (since my boxing knowledge is very limited). So what are they, in the correct order?
Part 2: I see some boxers (it usually seems like the smaller guys) wearing these padded helmet things. What wieghts wear those? And is there a cut-off? In otherwords, once you get to a certain weight, do you not wear the helmet anymore?
light fly(super straw)
light bantam(super fly)
light feather(super bantam)
light welter(super feather)
light middle(super welter)
Sometimes in America, the term super is used instead of light.
Padded helmets are used by amateurs and sparring. Hope this helps.
